The Paddling Shop was started by Kay van Oosten & Gavin McNish in 2009 out of a need to supply the Eastern Cape & Port Elizabeth paddling market with surf ski’s, canoes, recreational leisure kayak’s, fishing kayaks, paddles, lifejackets, roof racks & all paddling accessories.

The Paddling Shop now also runs the local Surfski School franchise which teaches new paddlers how to paddle and existing paddlers to improve their skills.

The Paddling Shop sells NEW and second hand surf skis, canoes, fishing skis and kayaks for all major brands. One of the main advantages of purchasing your craft from us is that we do a demo with you in a few different craft so that we can assist you to buy the right craft for your needs. And then just for fun we give you a roll of duct tape or a but pads for your new craft, along with your complementary CSA number stickers.

We source craft & accessories from all the major manufacturers like Fenn Kayaks, Knysna Racing, Pope’s Canoe, Eric’s Canoe Shoppe, Quiver, Tripper, Republic Sports, Carbonology Sport, Epic Kayaks, Kayak Centre, Island Tribe, Hi Tec, Cape Storm and others, and have travelled South Africa extensively visiting the craft manufacturers as well as the other retail stores to see what’s out there so that we can offer you the best available products at a reasonable price.
